Steve Coventry-Panton
Art Director
Steve Coventry-Panton studied Illustration at Plymouth University graduating in 2014 with a first class honours, whilst at university he was awarded second place in the 2013 Penguin Design Award and went on to a 4-week work experience at HarperCollins.
He officially started his book design career at Profile Books in 2014 as a Junior Designer. After 4 years working across Profile’s list and being shortlisted for an ABCD Award for his hardback design of Diary of a Bookseller in 2018, he left to work with Little, Brown Book Group until coming back to Profile a year later.
Returning to Profile Books in 2019 as Art Director, Steve leads the design and art direction for the soon to be launched Viper Books, as well as the newly acquired Souvenir Press imprint. At the same time, he continues to work across the whole of the Profile list. He lives in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.
Design Tip
“Before putting pen to paper and sketching out rough ideas I always try and put together a moodboard of everything I have researched for that title. I can then feel free to play and create ideas in a looser and more organic way.”
